We all want to make our house feel like a home, but that doesn’t mean we have to spend all of our money to achieve a cozy interior design.
Also, this doesn’t mean that it is bad to spend money on designing your home; after all, it is an investment you’re making FOR YOURSELF.
What Not to Do
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to start buying things without having a plan; because simply buying pretty and sometimes expensive things without having an idea of what you really want your house to look like can end up with you having stuff that doesn’t work together and consequently doesn’t look good. Not to mention there can be problems with the dimensions of things and the space you actually have in your house.
There are also things you could be spending a lot of money on (cause they can be quite expensive) that are not really worth the investment, like cushions and throws, rugs, and vases.
You Have Alternatives
Achieving a cozy home doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy new things, you can start by organizing and rearranging the furniture and things you already have.
There are also many DIY home decor ideas you can turn to that will probably take some of your time but you can actually save you a lot of money.
Another way to save some money and still be able to get some nice furniture or decorations is to browse vintage stores and buy statement pieces that won’t cost you a fortune.
Remember that the point of changing your decor in the first place is to make it a cozier home for you and your loved ones. And something really important is that no matter what others tell you or what you see on social media, the most important thing is to make it a place that YOU like and enjoy being in it.
Self-care is about making decisions for ourselves first.
